It has unfortunately been announced that LACK-CO. will go on indefinite hiatus. The indefinite hiatus will commence after their performance at Takadanobaba CLUB PHASE on May 30. In the official announcement, the band doesn’t state the exact reason behind such a decision. However, vocalist Taira Kazuhiro takes this opportunity to write a lengthy reflection piece to give more insight into the circumstances.
In his statement, he writes that he made multiple requests to withdraw from LACK-CO., even before bassist Ivy left the band in July last year. After a number of phone calls with the members, however, he decided to continue on regardless of the difficult hardships he had to face. He didn’t want to throw everything away though, just in case he started to see things differently.
Along with this announcement, they have also confirmed their final album Ridatsuru will be out on March 27 in two types, type A, and type B. While both types will share the same title Ridatsuru, they are both vastly different as they come with an entirely different set of songs, consisting of past material which also includes their live-limited singles. It’s essentially like a best-of album.
It’s unknown if these songs will be rearranged for that low-fi vibe we heard on their most recent album Jakunikukyoushoku but time will tell. Check the track-list below and their most recent artist photos.
