There is no better way to finish off promotions than bringing out the full music video for it and that is what Pentagon have done for single Mantra!
Out on July 4, the band allowed fans to see the explosive, story-driven experience that sees vocalist Chizuru summoned by the other band members. From here on out, the five-piece band power up and start karate training together, however, Chizuru’s spiritual energy is little to non-existent.
He’s also unable to float like the others and thus, he trains on his own all through the night but is bullied on his return. As morning comes, he faces off with drummer Atsuki first who sets off a Kamehameha, a well-known move from popular manga series Dragonball, only for Chizuru to do a bigger one back to defeat him.
Bassist Minpha is beamed down with ease, guitarist Taku tries to stop him but is blown up via self-destruction. Guitarist Yutori runs away but is caught up as Chizuru does Instant Transmission, another move from the Dragonball series, and is tripped up while the life bar from video games such as Street Fighter, goes down and presents a K.O. screen.
Chizuru then cries blood and shouts out as he looks at a picture of his former sparring partners which we can only presume, are now dead.
In terms of music, if you’re an avid fan of Japanese punk rock band, SiM, then you will definitely hear similarities throughout with its distinct ska sound.
